I think he did what he thought was right. Failed because he made a stupid choice by killing brainwashed young soldiers. Prefered sticking to it because he didn't want to admit that he made some wrong decisions, and now he is forced to do something because if he doesn't these soldiers will be there for the rest of their lives. All because he doesn't want to say. I WAS WRONG!
It's sick he sits back and has the power to make other young men and woman die for nothing. Especially while taking vacations, and so on.
George W. Bush and the Government are a big lie. PERIOD!

No, because he's backpeddling today.
"President Bush was largely noncommittal about the group’s 69 recommendations — which include withdrawing most combat units by early 2008."
"While the study group’s report held out almost no hope that the coalition could still achieve a military victory, Mr. Bush disagreed.
“I believe we’ll prevail,” he said."

I believe he is right and I agree with the approach that he is taking, by talking to all his generals and getting their opinion on how to deal with this war.

There is no doubt that we need to change tactics. I'll leave it to the generals to decide what we should try next.

Sometimes, not being a kool-aid drinker I can decide what issues to support and which ones to not support.
