Since the hockey team represented the entire country and not just one town in Texas, they're America's Team.
There is no America's Team in professional sports.

I stay interior the Tampa Bay section so I help the Bucs. I hate Dallas, somewhat even as the media began concerning them as 'u . s . a . of america's crew' decrease back interior the previous due '70's and so a techniques as L.A. is going, they ought to by no skill have enable the Rams bypass. If a large city like L.A. can not help an NFL franchise over some lean years like different smaller cities can, then they don't deserve a crew. talking of smaller cities, if any crew might want to characterize u . s . a . of america, this is the fairway Bay Packers. the in elementary words crew interior the league (and any significant activities league that i'm conscious of) it truly is owned with techniques from their city and by no skill a employer.

Wow, I never thought of that. My first guess would have been the Cowboys. But how exciting was the 1980 Olympic team? Definately the hockey team.

I'd say neither. I have always hated the Cowboys and thought the entire 'America's Team' stuff was crap. They were America's Team but ONLY in Texas, no where else. And hockey is such a minor sport I wouldn't even count the 1980 team.

Dallas Cowboys were and still are the original Americas Team. Just get used to it because it's been like that for 30 years and will continue to be.
preacher5 you're an idiot if you think the steelers sell more than the Cowboys. You don't even sell the most merchandise in your own state.

nothing against the hockey team, and i do like hockey, but football is wayyyyyy bigger in the U.S. if i was gonna pick an "america's team" itd be whoever wins. most people who dont watch football go with the front runner and the pats have won 3 of the last five sb's so id have to go with them, even though i hate them. tom brady has kinda reached the "every one knows them even if they dont watch fball status" that an americas team needs to me

Well, that hockey team was Americas team at that moment in time. But since that team is no longer a team except in the History books... I would have to say the Cowboys.

I know everyone calls Dallas "America's team", but who voted on that? What gives them the right to call themselves that? I hate 'em.
