It's what they call Wal Mart now, based on the amusement park that was the ultimate destination for the Griswald family in the original Vacation movie.

Wally World is a nick name for Walmart, and that is where the gift you chose was purchased.

As long as you spend near but under $20 for a gift to put in the pile, sets are allowed, but 3 individual gifts at around $6 each are requested. It should have been labeled more clearly stating that you can only grab that one thing if you should choose it, as the $20 is all used up... lol

That is a $20 gift set you have there, or they wouldn't have labeled how many things are inside to show that they saved themselves the trouble of buying 3 separate items at $6.66 each by purchasing something for $20 that included 5 items and called it done.

The REAL Wally World
In the first (and by far, the best) "National Lampoon's Vacation" film, bumbling Chevy Chase and his doofus family travel across the country to revel at the mythical theme park, Wally World. Six Flags Magic Mountain served as the stand-in for the non-existent theme park, but did you know that there is a real Wally World? Or, I should say WAS a real Wally World. The London amusement and water park closed and recently auctioned its rides and equipment. There's been no word on who submitted the top bid for Christie Brinkley's red Ferrari.

As to the 5 Piece Set - I have no idea. Sorry.

Wally World is what some people call Wal-Mart, sorry the 5 piece set could be anything in the store. Is the gift exchange a secret santa type thing where you dont know who got your name? Other than trying to find out who's paper you got I have no idea how you could figure this out.

Wally World is Wal-Mart. Get a gift card and they can get their own 5-piece set of whatever the hell they want and they will learn how to be more descriptive (could be a bathroom set of those fluffy things, towels, kitchen stuff....who could figure that out?) Good luck.

I thought Wally World was slang for Wal-Mart. Maybe a 5 piece set of dishes?
If your group lets people choose their own gift why don't you all just buy and wrap your own and just open them together?
Check with your organizer and ask about the person who only wrote one thing. I guess whatever you get as long as it has 5 pieces will work! Be sure and include the paper with the incomplete info and add--Hey! I tried!!

"Wally World" got coined in 1983, after the box office release of National Lampoon's "Vacation", since "Animal House"--one of their funniest films (the sequels were OK).

Wally World was the amusement park destination of a determined family man who encountered a huge streak of misfortunes while driving his family cross-country to this park.

"Wally World" also got coined to represent the Wal-Mart store chain as well--for obivious reasons. As to the "5 piece set"....well, that IS a Scooby Doo mystery--probably best answered by the person who wrote the gift suggestion.

Wally World is Wal-Mart. I would assume that the 5 piece set is a set of pots and pans.
