Yes, I was prescribed those when i was pregnant with my son. I only took them when I felt it was absolutely necessary. My son was a very healthy baby. Good luck!

Yes I did and it is sooo much worse if you do not take them. Do not listen to them. My daughter is fine and I took them for a few months straight. I can tell you though that it makes a little bit of and improvement but it is not a miracle pill. I still threw up but not to the point of having to go to the ER anymore. (Fenergain) is the pill I took there is also a pill that is a high dose of med. they give cancer patents to stop nausea( don't know what it is called)!

Follow your Dr's advice! If you are unsure, I would call to double check. I never was that extreme, but I had a friend who was hospitalized due to extreme nausea. She ended up taking the prescribed meds and had a healthy baby girl. Your Dr knows whats best for you, more so than some random person in the drugs store!

If a Dr gave it to you then listen to HIM! Lots of pregnant girls are put on nausea meds. Even me! Would you rather not take the pill and keep throwing up or take it and feed that growing baby?

Ive heard that all pills perscribed for nausia during pregnancy have strong implications in studies to cause severe comlications, even miscarriage. in fact, in my area, theres a lawyer who has a commercial asking for those who took a certain nausia during pregnancy and suffered complications to call, because the drug was found to be unsafe.
I wouldnt take them if a doctor paid me. They always SAY these things are safe... thats what they said about eh original HIB vaccine.. but i nearly died from it and lost a hip joint for my entire life.
25ml of vitamin b6 three times a day is not only safe, it works like a charm. I was back in action and not sick anymore after about 2 weeks. You have to take them the same time everyday, even whenyou dont feel sick.

My nausea wasn't too bad... but I took Ginger pills and rested with a cold rag on my face when it was at it's worst.
If the doctor knew you were pregnant (esp if it is your ogyn) then hopefully he wouldn't have prescribed something dangerous for you or the baby. Maybe give the dr a call and just double check with him! :)
Feel better!

I'm pregnant with my second child another little girl. But when I was 8 weeks I couldn't keep anything down so my doctor prescribed me something to help me through my morning sickness. I took it at night and it allowed me to have more energy and to actually keep food down. I took it for about a month and now I'm fine and I have no morning sickness. So if your doctor says it's okay then it's okay and you should take it.

If you told the ER doctor that you were pregnant, it's probably ok to take whatever he gave you. I don't think he would have given you anything harmful as long as he knew that you are pregnant.

If the doctor says it's okay and they know that your pregnant then it should be fine. If your on prenatal vitamins, that could be whats making you vomit. My doctor took me off my penatal vitamins and now I take a childrens chewable vitamin instead. I no longer throw up everyday and no pills.

Trust your doctor. I don't know about vistraril, but I took Zofran in the beginning of my second trimester. Although it is safe, it is a sedative, and makes the baby groggy, so my doctor advised me to take it only when I really needed it.
