Car is okay for now, but work is driving me crazy and I'm the type who can't stand sitting around doing nothing, even getting paid for it. This is all we're doing right now. It's making me literally ill. I'm going back to work tomorrow, and I really was having some serious probs with my car.

If there's nothing to do and you're willing to burn your vacation/sick time up or go without pay what does it matter.

Now, if your company was very busy and someone else was having to work extra to cover for you, that would be a different matter.

Companies these days understand people need personal time away from work, whether it's to clear your head, go to the dentist, or just to rest- that's why many companies changed the name from "sick time" to "PTO" or personal time off.... No, you're not bad- you're human.
