Is it the right time to implement General Kariappa's plan?

When the States Reorganisaion Committee was formed General Kariappa warned Nehru that the linguistic based states will create problems. Instead he came up with a plan. States should be formed for administrative convience. So first demark the India into several small units and mark them on the map before going onto the field. That way no language based boundries as we see now. But like many good proposals Nehru just trashed that idea and agreed to lingulistic based states. What a mess we have now!

I think it was right ,since we have different customs and cultures assocaited with languange for administrative simplicity this was teh best option . More than admin the linguistic states have natural boudaries that may prevent developmnet of one region .
Take the example of Railway Ministry ,though a railway minister should see India as one most of the new schemes are introduced in Bihar !!. There is chance that linguistic minority will be crashed within a state ( politically) .
If devided as per Kariappa's plan we would have had regional problem within states like North east problems india faces now .
Also to note india was formed in phases ,different states joining at different times to the Union .

Nehru did not like the idea of Language bases states, but it was the only way to hold the country from civil war. Language based violence was raging through the country specially in the south - Telugu/Tamil, Kannada/Marathi, etc.

Mr.Nehru was a British Proxy in India till his death and he knew how to divide and rule.Curiously only the India that he considered Outside India was divided in this Fashion,State of Bombay ,Punjab and Eastern and south India were among them.But at the same time He consolidated his power in utter pardesh,Bihar,Madhya Pardesh and Maharashtra[The so called real India].I think at this time there are much more serious things that we should think about rather to redivide India.Issue of Poverty and disease has to be #1 priority.
