XD @ this question.
The thing is, the goal for all politicians is to represent the people they serve. It's their duty to make sure that the will of the people is carried out. It could be argued that, although the president has done many things right, many of his other policies and actions have been very unpopular with the popular opinion. The other politicians that serve in Washington have to do their best to make sure that popular opinion is carried out, so they work on changing the policy the president may have mandated temporarily.
The thing is, even though they're undermining the president, they're doing it on behalf of the people.
And even in more recent months, it hasn't been only the "liberals" who have been doing such things in congress, it's been the "conservatives", as well.

I don't hate freedom. Actually, I prefer to be free. I didn't undermine the president, he made a mockery of himself very easily. He overturned our laws, he mocked the constitution, and he murdered people. The only reason this is allowed to happen is because of the Patriot Act and because he won't follow the Geneva Convention, which the USA SIGNED, and states certain international laws about how war should be waged. This administration has encated laws which are illegal, and has committed war crimes. My freedom should not be undermined by your delusion of safety. FREEDOM means the ability to dissent. FREEDOM means the ability to do what you want, when you want. According to the GOP, we can be spied on, we can be incarcerated without charge, and we can be tortured. Where's the freedom in that?

Your reasoning is faulty. Liberal, Conservative, waffle, or otherwise -- Hear this: the likes of "our president" is what undermines the very principles that otherwise affords and assures freedom for the free, for such as his violates the laws of free will as so entitled by any sovereign -- whether individual or nation, which results virtually always in turn requires that the violated must return with an equal if not opposite response in order to defend its or his or her freedom so that it may endure unmolested.
The Law of Self-Preservation holds sway always or at least should. No one will cut a man and then dare expect him not to bleed. No one can assault the freedoms of another person or nation and be so arrogant as to label him or it a thug exhibiting the actions of thuggery, when in reality he or it is doing no more than what is rightly preserving of himself as a free man or in the case of a nation, doing no more or less than what is its own patriotic right in order to persist and be as a free and viable nation.

Are you serious?
Liberals are all about Freedom. Too much freedom for their counterparts, Conservatives, to understand. They want their government to follow the constitution and having less of Big Brother.
It isn't that they Hate America! They love America like you and me but they have a different belief then you as to how it should be. Just because they disagree with your beliefs, doesn't mean that they don't like the USA!

Quite the opposite is true. They love America so much they're willing to speak out against the terribly presidency that is harming the country. At the risk of alienating supporters who will blindly follow any administration wherever it leads them they're doing what they believe is right.

Nice spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure that brings us your clarity of thought. Looks like some children did get left behind.
You like to paint with a broad brush. Don't you?
I'm liberal and I LOVE freedom. I do despise power without constructive purpose. That is what this President has brought us.

I suggest you look at what liberals actually do stand for. they are all for defending your constitution, which is the cornerstone of freedom in america. It's your president who is taking those freedoms away by attacking the constitution. As for aiding the enemy, well, look at official figures which show a rise in terrorism since the start of the war in iraq.

First off, learn how to spell. Second, I believe it's Pres. Bush and his conservative base that supports illegal wiretapping, taking away women's right to choose (abortion), refusing to give marriage rights to gays, and reinterpeting the Geneva Convention to allow torture of POWs. All of these items take freedom away from people. And it's also Bush who started the idiotic, disastrous war in Iraq, not liberals. Most conservatives are simply placing blind faith in bad leadership.

You know, you're right. Those darned liberals, trying to tell our president he can't torture people for no reason, wiretap our phones or force private companies to turn over their records! They're trying to take away his freedom! All because of that pesky old Constitution. We ought to just get rid of it.
