I was a paramedic for 10 years. I have seen hundreds of wrecks and the people who were killed or injured in them. If you don't wear a seatbelt and are in an accident, you WILL be seriously injured or killed. I have never seen anyone harmed by becoming 'trapped' in a vehicle due to their seat belt. I am sure it has happened, but in 10 years, I have never personally seen it. I have seen dozens of fatalities where the victim had skull fractures from hitting the steering wheel, dashboard, or windshield. Or was crushed when thrown from the vehicle. But that was back in the mid 1970s - mid 1980s. I'm sure air bags alleviate much of that, but you must wear your seat belt.

Some ambulance companies will let interested, qualified (ask them what that means) people ride with the ambulance as a learning experience. Try it and see for yourself.

It's a simple enough answer you just need to pad it out a little.
Cars are getting faster which leads to colisions at greater speeds, seat belts help save lives.
You could be nasty and argue thet the people traveling at stupid speeds deserve to die, and you may even be right, I was thinking about the family unlucky enough to be the innocent victims of the crash, good job they had belts on.

State only your side; never the opposing side.....Use proof from factual websites. Remember to support your thesis statement always and be consistent. Use transitional words, and every paragraph needs a topic sentence, then support that topic sentence in the next five to eight sentences...........
