I can IDENTIFY with your problems! I swear by the end of my pregnancies if I just LOOK at food I have heartburn! Tums extra strength is great. And if you get the smoothies, then they're not so chalky either.

I had the same problem with heartburn. At first it was just when I ate tomato based products, and like you, I would make myself throw up to ease the discomfort but towards the end of my pregnancy I drank 2% milk or took some tums and that helped a lot and my doctor said that those options were safe

Honey invest in a huge bottle of Tums or Rolaids and carry them with you no matter where you go. I had heartburn so bad even water gave it to me! Milk can also help too in controlling it. However there really isn't anything to get rid of it but the tums and rolaids will help relieve it for a while.
Good luck and congrats!

I feel you there. I am also 6 months pregnant and I get heartburn after eating EVERYTHING! usually before I eat I take a TUMS and then eat, and again after I eat. This usually helps. Don't make yourself throw up, thats gotta make it worse. Go for the TUMS and if that doesn't help consult your doctor.
Good luck !

tums. Drink milk. Dont lay down after eating for atleast 1-2 hours. Drink pleanty of ice cold water.
At some point you're just going to have to give up citrus until the baby comes. I reached a point where i simply cannot handle oranges and grapefruit. Juice i can still tolerate some times... But tomatoes i cannot.
Its not forever.

I feel your pain. I am only 9 weeks and I started having heartburn before I even found out I was pregnant! :s ... So far the worst heart burn has only came from a few foods and I am cutting them out!
Answering this so I'll have the question saved to refer back to!
Sorry I am no more help...

My doctor told me the only safe thing was TUMS...seriously...and try eliminating or cutting back on the food that gives you heartburn.
I had to sleep sitting up the last 3 months of my pregnancy because of heartburn, so it could just boil down to time and patience....oh and drink plenty of water..bottled....

I don't know how you feel about taking medication while your pregnant but I was having that problem so bad that I was spending a fortune on antacids. My doctor perscribed Prevacid 15 miligrams daily and it's my new best friend. And the best part it's class B which means no harm to the baby and relief to me.

I'm a medical researcher. It is widely agreed among physicians and medical paraprofessionals, that initial diagnosis, mostly by using a typical acid reflux symptoms questionnaire, is necessary to ensure the most effective and quick treatment for this condition. Approx 70% of the acid reflux diagnostics that are based on the presence of typical symptoms are accurate. Since acid reflux, also called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), can cause patients a great deal of discomfort and result in severe complications, it is highly important to know how to identify its symptoms in order to quickly diagnose and treat it.
If you know you have acid reflux you can try this natural program http://acidreflux.toptips.org

You can take tums. Also, I know its not the most charming thing but belching a lot really helps with heartburn.
