Absolutely. The vast majority of people believe what they see and hear on TV. Not nearly as many people read different articles to get different viewpoints on various subjects. And the media uses 'soundbites' which takes things out of context because they don't include the rest of the sentence.

Iraq. We are not "winning" the war because of the media. By only reporting the bad things happening in Bagdad, and ignoring the vast improvements and progress we have been making in the rest of the country, the insurgiency has been given life, and giving the people the idea that nothing good is being accomplished. Instead of charging Bush & Co with war crimes like so many on here want done, The New York Times and such should be charged with treason.
