The whole human race would be too embarrassed to come out into the light of day. For months the streets would be empty and few could look at another in the face. It would take time for the people to get used to the fact that everyone knows. Everyone knows their secret. Some would never get over the humiliation of a friend,or a family member, or a stranger would know the most intimate secret of their lives. Many would shrivel up and die a slow death. Others would commit suicide ending their humiliation. All would know that they were never any better than the rest of the human race. We would be humbled.
When the shock of this lost ability to hide secrets wears off, then the healing of our collective spirit would start.
No lies anymore...scandals would stop, politicians would have a hard time keeping their jobs, or getting elected. The C.I.A., Mossad, C.S.I.S., M.I.5, and other agents of governmental secrecy would die out. Advertising would become blase, and Wal-Mart would lose both suppliers and clients, as would other huge companies of profit, profit, profit,& more profit. Marraiges would have a stronger footings, divorces would run rampant until the decline of false weddings has run it's course. Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny would become extinct for the very reason that parents could not lie to the kids when they ask "is Santa Claus real?". The tooth fairy would be relegated to the dentist's garbage can.
The criminal courts would shrink to an unprecidented volume, and the police force would come clean on their own actions as well. Delinquent children would know that there is no monster out to get them if they don't go to bed, and the used car salesman would have to tell you the truth,"it really is a lemon!"
The repercussion's would be astronomical. The economics of every land would expand a thousand fold. The greedy would have to answer for the real cost, and price. Prices would freefall and contractors would have to keep their word.Marriages would become lasting and more strong. Children would grow up without a doubt, knowing their true value. No one would ever have to make a promise again. Your word would be the truth. Eighty percent of the world would have to pick up their socks and get with the twenty percent that are currently holding the world together. We wouldn't be able to steal and get away with it. We wouldn't be able to kill and cost the courts millions to get out of our punishments. We wouldn't be able to cheat our partners, and mistrisses, affairs, and prostitutes would lose more than just their money and thrills.
I could spend the afternoon on the repurcussions but I gotta go relieve my bladder and I'm getting bored trying to think of the repurcussions that are feasable. It's a long list you know?

What would the point of being an individual be if we had nothing to hide? There would be no point to Christmas gifts, or birthday gifts for sure. And there would be no time allotment for relationships; our feelings couldn't be kept until the time was right, they'd be all left out in the open on the very first night. No oppurtunity for growth, and where would anything go from there? Lying isn't the greatest thing to do by far, but at times it is necessary. And secrets make up who we are, not everyone needs to know every little thing about us or every thing we've done. Be honest, would we have many loved ones or friends if we did?

A skyrocketing murder and divorce rate, then maybe people would settle down after a while and get used to it. Maybe people would try to do better because they know they can't hide mistakes or secrets. Also, crimes would be solved in no time, so that skyrocketing murder rate would also cause a skyrocketing population in jails. That rate would probably level out, but still up higher than it is now. Any crime that would get someone in jail would be solved immediately, and because the lawyers couldn't do their job properly, any person on trial would be thrown in jail near immediately. There would be chaos for a long time, and if the population survived it, we might end up with a better world. It would take quite a while, though.

I used to believe that total honesty was the utmost virtue, until someone put it in perspective for me: Suppose you were hiding Anne Frank and her family in your attic and the Nazis asked you if you were hiding Jews, would you tell them the truth? Sometimes truth can be a bad thing, but only if you are lying to a greater purpose, not to scam someone for your own benefit. Unfortunately, most people lie to protect themselves, not someone else. If one day everyone lost their "choice" (ability is not the right word) to lie, I think it would be the end of civilization as we know it--too many people would be angry at the truths that would come out all at once--this would be world war 3....

The repercussion would be conflict within, and may hold back the freedom of spiritual growth. There would be a need to hang on to the fact that the small white lie had been told, in order to cover it at a future time. Needing to hang on to anything as we go through life is not beneficial. I believe that lies imprison, they take away the freedom of who we are on a human and spiritual level. It is also unkind to the person that the lie has been told to, causing them to doubt themselves, doubt their gut instincts, become confused. It is always best to come from a place of complete truth, and then one can move completely freely and unencumbered through life, and remain in a place of peace of mind. with love Sunny Girl :) :) :) Sparing another's feelings ....... There is usually a way to do so without needing to lie. If asked, many of us would say we prefer the truth to a lie. If the truth is coming from a place of genuinely loving intent then it is unlikely to cause harm.

At first, the murder rate would go up dramatically, but they'd all get caught. Then, all crimes would be solved, and the few committed would quickly be solved. Less violence, more embarrassment.
