It would just go back to the back alley where it was long before Roe v Wade.

My father, who is 79 and was a cop for 26 years, is pro-choice because he had to transport to back alley victims to the hospital. They got abortions alright, one with the traditional coat hanger the other with a knife, but they never did have children once they wanted to.

Abortion has existed forever before Roe v Wade and will exist long after it's overturned if that day comes. The only thing that will change is the woman's access to medical care, which I think is some of these "religious" people's way of punishing the woman for getting in such a situation in the first place. How about in such cases we cut the man's testicles off as well and punish them both? It takes two to get pregnant after all; why should only one of them be punished?

Both social and medical problems would result. First, you have more children in poverty and on welfare. More instances of child abuse, and neglect. More instances of murdered children, and children being left to die.

As far as the medical aspect goes, there would be back alley abortions that could kill women or leave them scarred for life. Then there's the women that would try to do their own at home and no telling what that would do.

Good question,Avery.I go along with the folks that say yes to both the social and medical problems that would increase. But let's take this in another direction for a sec.Conservatives/pro-lifers are not looking past their turned up noses on these problems. They preach sex ed and disapprove of supplying condoms to teens in school.Well, newsflash!!,that's not cutting it.They don't want abortion(does anybody?),but they ignore the consequences of removing the right to choose. They moan about all the govt. programs and welfare, etc.,but do they have alternatives? All the unwanted children have to be someones responsibility. We can't leave them in the streets. It's a paradox to an extent.Practicing safe sex is obviously a good practice but don't be naive enough to believe it's going to solve the problem.Peace.

In any country that has outlawed abortion, the number of abortions preformed are actually higher than in countries where it's legal.
Then there are those women who see no other solution then to have the child and then not being able to take care of it,resulting in abuse or even baby dumping or worse.
Abortions happen in every society unfortunately. In my opinion every reasonable person wants to reduce those numbers as much as possible.Outlawing and criminalizing it doesn't help in that at all.
Open minded sex education and easy access to preservatives does.

Yes. But you can never take away the option. It has existed foprever,a nd will continue to exist forever. Just depends if you are willing to force women into a death sentence over it. And it looks like many are willing to do that, so it is clear to me why it is necessary to protect women's rights...too many people would rather have women die!

i think that there would be alot more kids running around, and alot of them probably mistreated and abused because of their unfit parents. maybe even some without coats.

you need to give a way to do it safely, abortion clinics are helping women out. would you rather her do it with a coat hanger and die from tetanus or see a dead baby in a trash can?

Isnt it interesting that the same people who say Abortion Is Murder are the exact same people who hold up the bible,a book that has inspired more murder than any other book>

If they can't get a clean, safe, LEGAL abortion, they will seek out unclean, unsafe ILLEGAL abortions. These lead to infection, hysterectomies, disabilities, even death. Would society rather have a dead mother than a tiny mass of cellular tissue?
