my chevy 350 turbo transmission will not go into reverse. It shifts into all three other grears fine and shifts smoothly without any slipage. Is there something I can do to make reverse work again without pulling transmission?

Park way far out in lots so you pull into a space with an empty space across from it )so you can cross into that space), so you won't have to back out when you leave.

There is a reverse band in your transmission. The friction material on the band is either worn out or the band actuator is not working (hydraulic or seal problem). It's not a show stopper but can't be fixed without some internal trans work. Park in spaces where you can pull out going forward until you can have the problem fixed. A broken band is a possibility but it's rare to have that happen.

Check the fluid. If thats OK, drop the pan. How much metal in pan and filter? Big slivers of metal=bad. Next, check valvebody. The low/reverse piston actuates first and reverse along with the band. Its unusual to lose reverse and not have a problem with the forward gears. Did you do a neutral drop or something stupid, or did it just stop working?

In many transmissions there is a band that is used for reverse. The band in yours is broken. You have two choices now, 1. never park where you will have to back up 2. have it fixed.

It sounds like your transmission is going. I would go get the transmission checked becuase that's what mine did to me. It started with 1 gear and then the other gears went on me. So before it gets too costly have that checked.

Transmission must come out, with suggestions like syncros (with are only in manual transmissions) and a modulator, I suggest you take it to a professional.

It sounds like your syncro went out you need to repair it (which means tearing apart the tranny)or get a good used tranny.

check the vacum modulator. If that is good, get ready to pull.
