The best colour is one that looks good with the style of dress and complements the colours the bride wears. Some colours only look good on long gown dresses whilen others suit smaller outfits better. Generally the smaller the outfit the darker the colour.
The worst colour would be see-through as then you could see their boobs and their knickers! That would ruin the wedding!

peach and mint green are good colors. Fuchsia, maroon, red almost anything dark are bad.
