I hate seeing this question on here. Everybody's got their own opinion about alcoholics and mostly all of them are not even drinkers!! The only person that can answer this question is you and your husband! Anybody elses opinion is just that, an opinion. People always use the if you drink during the day, or if you can't go without it, etc. All bullsh*t. There are alcoholics the only drink on the weekends, or that go without it for days, weeks, or months. If you feel you have a problem, then yes, you are an alcoholic. If alcohol has ever caused you problems, legally, or in any kind of relationship, then I would say you need to look at your drinking habits and ask yourself if you are an alcoholic. Good luck to you.

When drinking starts disrupting your normal way of life, affecting your job, your home life, the way you take care things ,etc. Then alcohol is a problem. If you need alcohol to have a good time ore to "function", then you have a problem. But if you want to have a couple of glasses of wine a night, big deal. Enjoy. There are people with france who have wine with every meal. You're fine. Don't let society scare you.

Drinking a little every night does not make you an alcoholic. Don't listen to these nay-sayyers!!! A true alcoholic in the clinical sense, cannot function without alcohol. When they wake up in the morning their body craves it. An alcoholic suffers from alcoholism.....A disorder characterized by the excessive consumption of and dependence on alcoholic beverages, leading to physical and psychological harm and impaired social and vocational functioning. Also called alcohol abuse , alcohol dependence .
I highly doubt that your nightly wine is impairing your daily functions or causing a dependence. So enjoy!

If you do it every night I would say yes Because you have gotten used to it like a daily rutin and you get happy form it. There are other ways to unwind. Meditate, sing, dance, have s e x with your husband. Just don't drink evey single night. Choose one day out of the week as your wine day and drink then.

A couple of drinks is simply a way to unwind, a bottle every night is a different story.... try to stay completely away from wine for a few weeks and see if you guys can do it, if not, i would seek professional help.

my ex was an alcoholic, so i went to alot of alanon meetings and yes believe it or not u are an alcoholic. A alcoholic is considered to be some one who drinks to get drunk or tipsy. They also said that just 1 glass of wine or 1 beer a day is good for your health, but not to over do it.

Shhesh, no, I'm a minor alcoholic. the problem we have is this,, when we start drinking, we can't stop,, for instance, if I buy a 12 pack, i will sit there and drink 10 beers, throw one out and save one for the next day, can't stop untill all the alcohol is gone. So i don't drink at all now,, works for me. And I'm a minor alcoholic, major ones are much worse.

I think "Alcoholic" would be when you sit there and think all day about drinking, having an issue sleeping if you don't drink for a night...etc. If you are just doing it to spend time together and relax, don't worry about it. I'd worry more about being considered a Wine-O....LOL
