Last year my husband and I made DVDs of our family photos
and set them to john Lennon's Christmas song. We made these for our parents. Everyone loved them- lots of tears!
We also had some old photos enlarged and framed.
This year we decided not to even try to top the DVDs.

you might think ,what a thing to make for a Christmas gift, but I made plenty of them for friends and family , & they would´t be without one, ? where dose everybody keep ther platic carrier bags, most people once they have finished putting there shopping away put them straight under the kitchen sink. well for this carrier bag holder all you need is some odd material, sure your mum has some at home , about 50cm long & 25cm wide & small bit to use as a loop, & some elastic fold over matirial ,when sewing together leave a space at both end so you can push the elastic through, make the elastic at the top less tight than the bottom , so what you end up with is a long tube like thing sew your little loop on the top and that´s it. hang it up some where , so when you put your bags in push through the top and pull them out from the bottom, easy and cheep

Make some Christmas Ornaments. Use the 3-2-1 method. 3 Cups Flour, 2 Cups Water and 1 Cup Salt. Mix together. Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes. Push a paper clip through the top of the ornament so you will be able to hang the ornament on the tree, or use a straw and poke a hole through the top of it so you can tie a ribbon through it to hang on the tree. Pop in the oven for about an hour on 350. Or until cooked hard.
*you can seperate the dough once it is mixed into 3 or 4 different bowls and add a color of food coloring to each bowl to create a different color dough.

Well being a teen with almost no money, that's my only option. lol. I am a big baker so I will probably make sugar cookies and decorate them pretty with sprinkles and frosting :) I will also take an empty jar and decorate it with red and green tissue paper ( with hodge podge ) and then stick some candy canes in the jar. I might write a small book of poetry and give it to my mom or dad. I am taking some cool photos of my family and I over the summer and pasting them in a blank book. Have a wonderful christmas! =]

Florentines, dipped in chocolate. Panettone or stollen. Also, those biscuits you get in Italian cafes, biscotti. Home-made ones are better, they don't break your teeth. I once spent a happy afternoon with my children making marzipan fruit, which looked great packed into little trays & covered with cellophane.
Whatever you do, buy some cellophane (from florists, or Paperchase) & nice ribbon - makes it look professional. Use gold tissue paper if you can find it, too.
Biscotti
8oz/225 whole unpeeled almonds
1lb 2oz/500g unbleached white flour
1tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1lb 2oz/500g caster sugar
4 eggs
grated zest 1 orange
1 tsp vanilla extract
Oven - gas 5, 190/375 Bake the almonds for 4 -5 mins until brittle (snap one to test), then cool & chop roughly.
Sift flour, baking powder & salt into a large bowl, add the sugar, eggs, zest, vanilla, nuts, & mix well.
Divide into two & shape into long thin logs on a baking tray lined with non-tick paper. Bake for 25-30 mins until firm.
Remove from the oven & lower the heat to gas 2, 150/300. Leave to cool slightly, then cut into diagonal fingers. Spread out on the trays & put back in the oven for 10 -15 mins to dry out completely.
The orange makes these really special, and they will keep for quite a few days. You could pack them up with some special coffee.
Email me if you'd like the other recipes.

CD mixes are always great. A framed picture collage can also be nice if you are doing a homemade gift for someone closer to you. It's got that sentimental touch.

Baked goods are always a hit. If you are a crafty person, I love to Crochet things for people. Almost anything hand made is appreciated by family. If you are trying to do something handmade due to cost and low income, well you have a computer. Almost anyone who has a computer has a printer. The printer usually comes with a program that creates stationary. Plain envelopes with some stationary printed by you for someone special is a touching gift.

Crocheted items are what I give most of the people on my list each year, they seem to really appreciate the time and effort expanded to make items that are 'made with love' just for them. Of course, baked goods are a good last minute type of gift to give to just about anybody, everybody loves to eat this time of year, just be careful if making items for diabetics, use sugar substitute so they can enjoy the wonderful items that you have made with such love for them!!

Well if you are crafty you could, draw or paint something. Knit sew or crochet a blanket or a peice of clothing. You paint a porcilen figure and give that as a present. The best thing to do is to go to Michals arts& crafts, or go to Walmart arts&crafts section, look around and just get some ideas.
