Women do not ovulate while pregnant, so there is no egg for the sperm to fertilize.
And for the record, ovaries do not produce eggs. They release them. Women are born with all of the eggs they will ever have in their bodies.

ovulation occurs due to the drop in estrogen hormone in your body at day 14, which also leads to the increase in progesterone.
When a woman is pregnant, the level of estrogen is kept at a constant high level. The lack of the drop in estrogen results in the lack of ovultion, and therefore a pregnant woman cannot (most likely) become pregnant again during the pregnancy.

Once you become pregnant different hormones are at work. The ones that control your menstrual cycle are in short shut off and your ovaries do not produce anymore eggs until the baby is born.

This actually happens, although very rarely.
The hormones (especially progesterone) produced in the pregnant uterus shut down the menstrual cycle, so ovulation (release of the egg cell) typically does not happen. No egg...no pregnancy.

A woman can still become pregnant after being pregnant. That is where twins come from that don't look alike. Ask your doctor and he will confirm this,
