I heard that it won't be because its "racist".
thats sooooo stupid.
its a freakin' disney movie, and a cartoon at that.
I really want to see it!
Everytime I go to the Magic kingdom I ride Splash Mountain and wish that I could have seen the movie that goes along with it.

No, they will not release it as it was pulled from all markets. According to Wilki:

"The film has never been officially released on DVD or home video in the USA,[1] because of content which Disney executives fear could be construed as being racially insensitive towards black people, and is thus subject to much rumor and speculation."

Its already been released on DVD in the UK, a few years ago. You can get a copy from there, although it'll be on the European format.

It ain't deliberately really racist... its just very dated and looks kind of ridiculous now...full of "hush ma mouf" uncle tom type characters . But taken on its own merits, its a fair movie and technically interesting as its one of the first to mix live action with animation.

It's out there. Look around Ebay and such They are bootlegs but there are some good copies floating around just make sure its a well rated seller.

Don't hold your breath for Disney to re-release this in the USA.
