I am almost 19 weeks. Sometimes I think I feel something but sometimes just think its gas. I have a five yr old but its been so long I can't remember. I am a little heavier not grossly obese if this has anything to do with it. When should I feel strongly and know its the baby? Also is it weird to have heartburn the whole time and all of a sudden it disappear. I had heartburn daily and now I haven't had it for the last three days. Thanks

You know that feeling you get in the stomach when you are really excited - almost a little prickley? That is what mine felt like, but lower. They are too little @ 19wks to feel an actual kick. Trust me, in another month or two, you WILL know a kick -- hopefully, he will miss your bladder. And yes, it is normal for the heartburn to just stop -- be thankful.

Congrats! I too have the same heartburn situation. Just relax everythings okay. Just enjoy the times that you don't have it. It can also be brought on by certain foods that you eat as well as some stress. The movement situation........It's normal also. Some people, first time and 5th time moms don't feel the baby move until 20-24 weeks. If your still not sure by 26 weeks, then set up an appointment with your doctor. I read pregnancy for Dummies and watched the show on DHC. Good Luck. Something that you might try, and I know it's hard but lay on your left side or on your back and just lay there and breathe steadily. I'm 26 weeks now and my guy is so active when he kicks you can see my belly move and I'm not really showing. People guess that I'm 3-4 months on 6.

heartburn is definitely huge in pregnancy, maybe its a combo of being pregnant and what ure eating....but generally the bigger u are the longer the wait for fetal movements because theyre so week in the beginning u wont feel it until their beating ya up!! PLUS some movements dont start until 25 weeks so dotn sweat just yet! and jsut be glad u dotn have heartburn EVERY day like some people.i had it on and off also so thats fine! cognrats on being a mommy again!

you should feel a lot of movement around your second trimester. But you are probably feeling some now kind of like a flutter. Not having the heartburn is a good thing nothing to worry about.

it probally was the baby moving that you felt. but in about two weeks you will be able to feel it and know it for sure. = ) I get heartburn on and of now and again. having it go away is not something to worry about it a good thing. Good luck and congrats on the baby. = )

I would just be glad the heartburn is gone. I had it bad in my pregnancy!!!

I started feeling movements around 16 weeks with my second. It didn't feel like butterfly's though. It felt more like small muscle spasms or pokes!

Although I don't have children, several friends described their babies first movements as "flutters" in their tummies, often mistaken for gas. Try this: Drink a glass of orange juice and take notice of any sensations you may feel in your abdomin. The sugar in the juice will cause baby to become active and you'll be able to differenciate the feeling.

yeah when my baby started moving i thought it was gas too. LOL. scared me though. but thats just your baby letting you know its getting strong. i didnt get heartburn until recently *im 8 months* its scary waking up in the middle of the night. i found that chewing gum makes it go away...at least for me it does.
