Why do you want to know about your past life anyway? From what I know, it has little relation with your present life. I assume you believe in reincarnation, right?
Know any friends who are believers of buddhism, ask them. Their religon speaks of the "life-cycles" I think. Make a call or MSN, no need to get up this chair.

The first thing that you must learn is how to meditate---this is crucial to learning to clear your mind of the everyday so that it is clear for the other information to flow in. You can do this sitting in that chair that you are so attached to. ;-)
Buy some soft music that is relaxing or that really appeals to you or makes you "feel". Try different varieties as you meditate. Enya's music is lovely, or try native flutes, didgeridoo, or any other type of music, including Christian spiritual hymns or sacred music.
If you find one particular type of music really appeals to you, meditate to it over and over again. At some point, you will begin to have little movies in your head. You might just gets bits and pieces of memories, or a whole darn movie.
One thing to note is that all time exists all the time. You will not really be viewing a past life, per say, but actually a parallel life ( or lives) that you are living as you are living this one---and, they all influence one another. Also, do not expect this all to happen quickly. Give yourself time and don't give up.
Here is a great exercise to try that I developed on my own:
Close your eyes and take 3 deep cleansing breaths, exhaling slowly on each one until you feel relaxed. Now focus on feeling you right foot, then move up to feeling your lower leg, then focus on your upper leg, now focus on the whole leg. Move to the left foot and follow the same procedure as you did with the right leg.
Next, focus on feeling your right hand, move up to feeling your forearm, upper arm, then the whole arm. Repeat on the left arm,
Now start at the base of your spine, work up to your head, each time feeling more of your spine, head, and face. From here, focus on the sensation of your whole body.
Once you are relaxed and focused just on your body, then picture a scene in nature that appeals to you and just take it in and enjoy it. Look around, and notice that you are surrounded by all kinds of children, from all races and time periods. They are all from infancy to 10 years old or so. Now, play with them and talk to them. Embrace each one and realize how much you love each one. Focus on how good it feels loving all of these children!
Now look off to the side and see another child that you haven't approached yet. Take this little child in your arms and tell him/her how much you love them and how special they are to you. Realize that this child is you when you were little.
At some point, let the children know that you are so happy to have seen them, but that you will be back to visit all of them soon, and that you would love to have them visit you.
See how it goes thereafter when you meditate, each and every day. Good luck!

IF U ARE TRUE TO GOD THEN TRY TO LISTEN TO YOURSELF.I THINK IN MY PASTLIFE I WAS CHRISTIAN OR A BUDDHIST BECAUSE I FEEL VERY CLOSE TO THIS RELIGIONS AND THERE ARE CROSS MARKS ON BOTH MY PALMS.I EVEN PRAY TO BUDDHA AND CHRIST.TRY TO FIND OUT YOUR PAST THIS WAY.U MAY BE PARTLY SUCCESSFULLY
