Reggie Bush changed his number to 25 because of NFL rules. Each position in the NFL can only wear certain numbers, to help the officials in regards to penalties, among other things. Bush actually petitioned the NFL to try and keep his college number, to no avail. The Bush that plays for Louisville is Michael Bush, but I don't think they the two are related. His Louisville bio doesn't say anything about Reggie.

he had to change his number because the NFL would not make an exception to the rule for him to wear 5.
the number 1-19 are reserved for QBs, Punters and Kickers but a few years back they allowed WRs to wear numbers between 10-19.
RBs (Halfbacks and Fullbacks) wear numbers bewteen 20-49, and 25 was the closest one (he said) to wearing number 5.
i like the rule, i guess because i just know all the positions and numbers, so when i see a certain number i can pretty much figure out what position he plays. when watching Bush during training camp, i kept excpecting him to throw the ball at some point because of the #5.

You New Orleans adult males could take a Xanax and calm the F**ok down. because of the fact What precisely is Reggie Bush doing that's so distinctive than what Gayle Sayers did, or What Dave Megget did, or what Napolean Kaufman did while he became into good, or what Ledainian Tomlinson does, or what Tiki Barber Does, or what Brian Westbrook does for the Eagles, or What Marshall Faulk did for the Rams... I mean, he's a real good participant.. yet he hasnt replaced dick bearing directly to the placement. he's is a smallish, hybrid RB/Flanker... He catches the ball properly, and on celebration runs it properly. the adult males i named have been/are ALL greater helpful RunningBacks than Bush... and the adult males like Tomlinson, Barber, Westbrook, and Faulk Can all capture the ball besides as Bush.. so what precisely has he replaced? the reality Bush could have one hundred receptions at end of 365 days speaks greater to the reality he has not been as consistant a runner as they had was hoping he may well be. So gimme a injury with the Bush is the terrific element because of the fact that sliced bread crap. i understand you New Orleans adult males are giddy on the 40 two factors you place on Dallas, yet cmon!!

By NFL rules, Reggie had to change is number. % is a quarterback number, (as is any number between 1 and 19), It is a stupid rule, as there are many receivers who wear 18, 19. Reggie even tried to challenge this rule, but the No Fun League upheld the rule.

The NFL doesnt let running backs wear numberslower than 20. They used to not allow receivers to wear numbers that weren't in the 80's but Keyshawn Johnson made a successful appeal to change that when he came into the league so he could wear 19.
