Typically it`s up to the customer to clear the area for the installer. I`ve found this not to be the case most of the time. Rich people and elderly are the biggest culprits. I have a place in my heart for the elderly and always help them out. But it really hacks me off when we have to remove $1000 window dressings from some YUPPIES 8X10 window opening. Of course that`s after you move the $50000 home entertainment center. Then when you`re finished a about 6 P.M. They want you to move it all back!! In short, take the blinds down!!!! The installers will do a better job for you when they`re not pissed off from the start!!!

They would only be interested in your windows, as the first reply stated it is usual for a company to ask you to remove anything that might get in their way whe replacing your windows.
If they do take anything down ensure it is not damaged. But it is up to you to replace it once they have finished.
Unless they state differently in their works contract with you they will not replace anything they had to move to do the work.

They will generally ask you to remove any window treatments you have because if they break them, they are not liable. Some window guys won't touch it if there are window treatments because they don't have release forms that you can sign even if you verbally agree to release them from possible damages.

They would have to take them down but I doubt if they would put them back up, unless you were willing to pay extra, and it was included in the deal from the beginning.

WOULDNT U WANT TO PROTECT THEM IF U PAID FOR THEM. THE WINDOW MAN ONLY WANTS TO DEAL WITH THE WINDOW. THIS CAN GO WITHER WAY, U WOULD ALSO THINK THE REPAIRMAN WOULD ALSO HAVE RESPIECT FOR YOUR STUFF WITHIN YOUR HOUSE.
