One of the British national daily newspapers is asking readers "what it means to be British?"

Some of the emails are hilarious but this is one from a chap in Switzerland....

Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer,

then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way,

to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

.. And the most British thing of all?... Suspicion of anything foreign!

For gorgeousfluffpot's info, The Irish are Not or Ever were British.. It is fine to be british if you are british... Even under british rule before 1922, Irish were not british then.. Seperate country. Still a very sore topic in Ireland.

LOL I want to visit the UK so bad. Brits are great. Americans act all tough and bad ***. But tell the wrong person "merry Christmas" and watch out.

I am so bored and sick of American political correctness. We need some thick skin!

Being British is to have ruined the planet earth for every one and every thing.
Ireland, Scotland - the world's first terrorist activities started there.
Israel - British creation.
India/Pakistan - British creation.
Sri Lankan terrorism - British creation.
The whole of the Muslim world and their problems - British.
The countries which prosper because the British could not put their fingers into the pie-
US- they kicked the brutish out and took the continental ideas and views.
Canada - they have a nominal (anti-us) British immigrant population.
The racist jail of "Australia" - British.
The list goes on and on.
