There will be a choice of 3 starters , prawn cocktail , melon balls or homemade soup ..
I usually have the melon as the soup would fill me up , need to keep a space for the sprouts and that home made trifle :)

Merry Xmas !

I wish I could have eggies in a basket. It looks so good in the movies.

As for a dinner appetizers are the norm; carrots, celery, olives and maybe some cheese. Then there's also chips and dip, which are the first to disappear.

Please don't put cookies out, everyone will be too sick to eat because they overindulged on sweets.

we dont have a starter. we have bacon and eggs for breakfast at about 6 oclock in the morning and then dinner at 1 oclock, and a choice of 3 puddings. christmads pud, sherry trifle or sticky toffee pudding, can't move after that, just wouldn't have room for a starter, merry christmas...for supper cold meat and pickles....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I normally make a load of canapes up as it helps if you're having a kitchen disaster, then just serve up the main meal when it's ready. Stops everyone getting to bored sitting down around the table if you're running late.

We always ahve prawn cocktail, it's nice because it's not too filling for the main course after. If you do soup poeple want bread and then they can't finish the main course you slaved on for hours, learnt that one the hard way!
