I think they should have a say. Not as babies. I got mine done at 10. Right before I entered middle school. I decided to do it and saved up my own money from chores around the house and paid for it myself. When I first asked to get them done I was about 8. My mom said if I still wanted to two years from then I could. I consistantly wanted to and she let me. It's a good gift for a middle schooler.

There really isn't an age restriction, ear lobe piercings are done on girls of all ages. As long as a parent is willing to sign forms, anyone under 18 can get an ear piercing. Those over 18 years of age can do it alone.

However, piercing ears at a young age can cause issues. Often if an infants ears are pierced, as the infant grows the off center or potentially crooked ear piercings will be more noticeable. Depending on the place the piercings are done at, infection can be a problem, but its not that likely to happen. If I had a daughter, I would wait until she is about 10 to pierce her ears. I would wait because I want her to take the responsibility for them and I want her to want them because she likes it, not because I do.

My parents allowed me when I was 7. For my second pair I was 13 or 14. It really depends on your parents and how they feel about it. Also if you're ready for the upkeep of them. I would never really take care of mine when I was little and they always got infected.

I think piercing them when they're a year old is ridiculous, although it looks cute...Does the baby want pierced ears?

there isn't an age specification. Many people get their infants and newborns ears' pierced. I, on the other hand, waited until I turned 17 and went to college! It depends on when they are ready, and if they really want to. I don't think there is a age determination.

Its totally up to the parents! As a mother of two young girls, I had their ears pierced when I knew they were responsible enough to to take good care of them! Good luck to you!!

I don't think there are any set rules. It just depends on the rules her parents set. It could be a 1 month old baby or a 15 year old teen.

When parents agree that it is OK. You can always do things to try and convince them to do it sooner... like tell them how you will take care of your ears, etc.
