What was my life like as a child? You will not believe me, probably, but I will briefly tell you. Outside toilet my first 18 years. Wood and coal burning stoves for heat. Water froze in the kitchen in the winter. No running water inside. At age 8, for Christmas, I received only1 pair of anklets, unwrapped. We never went to grocery--a peddler--in a small school bus painted red--came around weekly. Never had store bread or ketchup. Home made. Everything was raised in garden and canned. I was not a spoiled child--and I am not a jealous person. Need more information--e-mail me. Thank you.

i think you mean what was childhood like for adults of today?

I grew up in the seventies. Everyone had really wild curly hairdos and wore these multicoloured glittering platform shoes.
I played with Lego and playmobil. There was an oil crisis in the 70's and in belgium they declared a car-free sunday once a month. I remember rollerskating on the dual carriageway. A Raleigh Chopper was THE bike to have.
In the 80's there was gameboy and the first video games went into the arcades. I remember playing a cockpit-shaped Star Wars game and getting to shoot the Death Star. Music was all new-wave and the hairdo's were very'wavy' too. It was a time of legwarmers, big anti-nuclear marches, more cars on the road, computers were not in the house yet and mobile phones were the size of a brick.
That sort of what you looking for? I'm 41 now :-)

I remember Freedom more than anything else. We spent our time playing with all the other kids in the neighbourhood and every-one knew each other! I liked being able to walk in the countryside with just my dog for company! Wouldn't let any future grandchild do it nowadays! We didn't know about the nastier side of life till we were nearly adult! We didn't worry about fashion or pop-music either! Everyone had different favourites but we accepted that as 'normal'
In the 50's and 60's you were allowed to be a child!! Great days!

read an Enid Blyton book and my childhood was very much like that, innocence, sunny days, safe to walk the streets and all that. My parents let me play in a park without them, let me walk to school alone .... I think the world felt a bit safer then.
Actually I cannot remember a rainy day - all my childhood days were always sunny and smelt of mown grass!
I'm not sure if this has answered the question, as I am not sure what the question was, but I felt good in remembering this and writing it down!!

It seems to me as if there is the front half of your question missing in action.
