I think Lion.
Research by Discovery channel showed that Lion will win if Lion and Tiger of comparable size fight.

I'll say the Tiger. It's lighter, faster and usually a loner. Lions usually have Lioness around to catch the food and raise their young. Cats that are loners are much more of a fighter then others.

The Tiger is the largest and strongest cat in the world. It out weighs the Lion by nearly 200lbs and has striking force of around 400+ lbs.
The lion would not have a chance. In fact the Lion would already know this and would avoid the Tiger all together. King of beast until they run into a Tiger. I would bet the farm on this fight! Tiger can weigh 570 lbs

Animal Face-Off did indeed declare the lion as the winner, but I think they are wrong. The Bengal tiger will beat any cat, even a Siberian tiger which is larger but less powerful. A hundred years ago or more they had brown bears fight lions and bulls and things in a pit and bet on it. The brown bear crushed the skull of the bull or lion in one paw swat. So fewer people were betting. The started out with Siberian tigers but they didn't fair much better until they brought in the smaller but more powerful Bengals to even out the betting. I'll look for the link that has all this information if I can find it. Bengal tiger wins!

I tend to think the Tiger would win Lions hunt in and live in a Pride however the Tiger is (for the most part) a solitary animal I would bet on a loner in a fight over a follower any day.

Comparable size - the lion might win. But "comparable size" would mean a full grown adult lion against a very young tiger. A full grown lion is about 6 feet long and 400 pounds. A full grown tiger is about 10 feet long and 600-700 pounds. No contest if the two animals were the same age.

actually i really wanna share my views on this curious question,as per i hav heard that a lion & tiger never meet face to face, many says that these two has fought for the kingdom ,lion won but lion according to studies its the laziest animal & strongest too as tiger is blood thirsty that is even not hungry unlike lion it kills the prey it sees
so by anaylzing this the tiger may b angry type but the strongest is the lion scientifically.so the winner is the lion
