good luck.....that's why they have this thing called marriage, and it's actually a binding contract.

Depending on where you live, you may already have a common-law marriage b/c of the amount of time you've lived together. I know that such a thing doesn't exist in NJ, but it does still exist in other places.
If you're name is on everything, you shouldn't have anything to worry about legally, but I would still get a lawyer to ensure you get half of all of your investments. Things with only his name on them may be hard to prove, but hopefully you have investments with only your name to counter-balance that. As for the other properties, you may be able to either sell them both and split the profits, or decide who gets each one.
If he's being this callous about the whole situation after 7 years together, he's going to be a jerk about child support too, so I would have a paternity test done as soon as the child is born. That way he can't deny the child. The pets are an issue you two or your lawyers will have to discuss.

Good luck in everything, and I'm sorry about your hardship.

Everything should split down the middle, but this depends on your states laws. Don't think you won't be treated like a married couple just because you never made it official. Many states recognize common-law marriage as a legally binding marriage and your situation would be treated just like a regular divorce. The long and short of it is that you need a lawyer because this may be more of a divorce than you really know.

You need a lawyer....The worse thing you can do is buy all those things together and not get married...

One thing you should have done was talk about what you wanted before you invested years in a relationship.....

All you can do now after the lawyers sought this mess out is learn from your mistakes and ask more questions before you get serious with anyone else....

Good Luck....

It depends in which state are you living. If you are living in a state which recognize the common marriage. Those states are Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, New Hampshire, Montana,
Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina,Texas. In those states if you live together and represent yourself as married you are considered married under the common law. If not then you will be treated as unmarried couple being real estate partners. Hopefully you are part owner and dead in your name too. It is easier if you are married because during the divorce marital property is divided while for unmarried couple procedure is same as for any business dispute. Resolution is usually time consuming and big money drain.

1st fight for that relationship. you guys have been going for along time. and he shouldnt be upset that you are having a baby, its part of him too. guys sometimes are just scared to grow up and having this baby would be a reality check.
1st you guys need to sit down and hav a civilized talk, then if that doesnt work out, deffinately get a lawyer.
Good Luck, im routing for you guys!
Is it a boy or a girl?
