Artists record so much music in their careers and never get to release all of it. In Tupacs case they are releasing stuff he recorded before he died.

From what I understand, Tupac was VERY prolific in the studio, partly due to his need to break away from the shady and dangerous Death Row Records. He signed a contract that bound him to make a certain amount of albums for them before he knew how crooked they were (somewhere between 3 and 5), so he basically lived in the studio for about a year, and made more than enough songs to finish the deal much earlier than expected. Now they're being released so other people can make money off his cold dead carcass. Sad.

I know that there have been albums released by other dead artists. Sometimes it may be stuff like old archived music, demos and stuff like that. I don't know about Tupac since I've never listened to any of his music so I don't know what they're putting out by him. I think when they finally released Nirvana's box set there were "new" recordings on there that were just old tracks that never made it on to any of the older albums. I know when I bought the Cars' double-CD set there were songs on there that weren't released before and it was kinda cool because it was like hearing "new" songs from my favorite band, but who hadn't recorded anything together in years.

Tupac is sadly like John Lennon

Tupac recorded several full tracks prior to his death for his next few albums which the albums were never released due to his unfortunate and tragic murder

They did the same thing a few years ago with the finished tracks of John Lennon which he was working on for his next album before his death I guess tupac had more tracks recorded then John Lennon though

Tupac recorded many songs unreleased before he died. and artist always do that. They could record 3 albums in a year and release them once a year. Aaliyah had songs that Timberland and Missy Elliot later released after her death. We all know he's dead, but his legacy stays alive.

Yep probably just stuff left over from previous recording sessions. The Beatles have an album out right now and the Doors just put out a box set. It's just remastered and or remixed stuff.

Tupac did the Prince thing. He just kept recording till he died. All of the vocals you hear have been spliced from those recordings he did. His mom is in charge of the proceeds now. I am not sure who does the mastering where the music tracks are laid out but the stuff does sound good.

Oh, and you can't fake having your lungs blown out your back.

My understanding is that his family has a lot of unreleased tracks he recorded before his death, and are parcelling them out a few at a time to keep the income going, probably to support his kids or whatever other dependents he had.

They releasing his Albums is his honour, and maybe with added special features and B-sides. I mean people still release albums of Mozart and Beethoven ,mainly because records and cassettes are obsolete and because people still want to hear them.

He recorded alot of songs with other people. Some stuff was recorded years ago. They edit the music and keep the lyrics to keep his music updated so it sounds new. Notice all of his new stuff isnt that good...Its because he is dead.
