I think it's safe at any time except perhaps during the very first weeks of life when their immune systems aren't up to par and with so many germs on airplanes and with crowds then maybe it's not a good idea. But after that, as long as you have all your necessary supplies then it should be fine. A young baby may be easier to travel with because they sleep so much, an older one may be harder to keep entertained. My baby is 9 months old and we will take her on a flight to Florida next week (only a 3 hour flight though). I am nervous about it but she is fine as long as she is held and cuddled, so your baby may be the same.

I took my baby on a long hual flight when she was 6 months. She did perfectly fine. Check with your doctor to be sure, though.

do not envy you! My son flew 8 hours at 6 weeks previous without situation. Have boob/bottle waiting even as ascending and descending on the grounds that he/she is only too youthful for boiled chocolates. My airline (can not save in ideas which) had a crib/replacing table spot in the front of me for him and four journeys went properly. situation's upward thrust up even as toddler is a toddler and cabin crew lunges your lunch tray at you looking forward to you to carry a toddler and stability a tray on pull-out table and enable them get on with their pastime.... As suggested above - examine with the airline as they do variety in guidelines.

as long as you have plenty of diapers, plenty of burp cloths, plenty of food, and one nice passy... you're good to go.
