it started not so loud and every once in awhile now it happens when its cold and i could be driving or at a stand still i have asked two machanic and they haven't been able to fix it. someone please help me . do i need to start thinkin about a new car.

This is common on the 2.5l ford motors. it is usually the bypass air control valve ( also known as idle motor) if it makes the noise & you can get under the hood & put your hand on it you will feel it vibrate.
the diaphrams get stuck usually, just replace it.

Can you post more information on this problem? Idling ? rpm? Heater on? Etc?
