USC lost to 2 unranked teams and have a lower ranking in the bcs. In the history of LSU they have never played Michigan. I think that they deserve it more than USC. I know the BCS loves USC and they are everyone's golden boys but not this year. LSU will beat the ever living **** out of ND and to make things even wore for the irish the game is in New Orleans. OUCH

if the winner of the Pac-10 and Big 10 conferences are available to play, then they will be invited to the rose bowl.

it has nothing to do with who a team lost to or who is more deserving. since USC won the Pac-10; and because they didn't make it to the natty, then they were available to play in th rose bowl.

i think the sugar bowl invites the SEC champion if available.

Usc has an automatic bid to the Rose Bowl because they were the Pac-10 champions. They were the top team in that Division and the Rose Bowl is always the Pac-10 winner vs. the Big 10 winner. But because Ohio State is ranked #1, they are going to the championship game. Therefore, Michigan is in. Hope that helps!

The Rose Bowl traditionally hosts the PAC-10 and Big-10 champions. USC won the PAC-10 and therefore has an automatic bid. Michigan, the runner up in the Big 10, is the natural replacement for the Big-10 champion. LSU has no legitimate claim to the Rose Bowl.

I agree with your statement. Overall I would have to say the main reason why USC is in the rose bowl and not LSU is money. Many teams/conferences have contracts with certain bowls, and if they win a certain number of games (or their conference) that is the bowl they will go to. Plus how easy do you think it will be to sell out and market the bowls now that LSU is playing in New Orleans and USC is playing at home (technically)?

TH only reason it is USC and not LSU is because the Rose Bowl is by tradition supposed to get the Big Ten champ versus the Pac-10 champ, unless one gets invited to the BCS Championship game. We all are aware that USC is highly overrated, and that Notre Dame barely deserves a Bowl at all, but it is what it is.

The Big Daddy of them all, The Rose Bowl, is by tradition the Big 10 Champ(which would be OSU, but they are in the Title game so passed to second place Michigan) vs. the Pac-10 Champ(USC) so USC goes in. That is TRADITION and it isn't the BCS messing things up this time.

USC is not overated. LSU is overated and the SEC. The best team in the SEC is the Razorbacks with a passing game. Florida and LSU will get stomped. Rose Bowl = PAC 10 + Big 10 = Always.

Wow, there are really some stupid people out there.

USC goes to the Rose because they're the Pac 10 champs. Unless the Pac 10 champ goes to the title game, they play in the Rose Bowl, as does the Big 10 champ. Since the Big 10 champ is Ohio State, the Rose had the option of choosing who they wanted to to be the other team, and they chose the loser Michigan.

LSU doesn't belong in the Rose Bowl, it's a Pac-10/ Big Ten game. You should be happy to go to a BCS game even though you didn't play in your conference championship game.
