Okay my friend ran away and the cops asked me if i had talked to her and i said yeah and then they asked for the number ad i said i didnt know. And they took my cell number and she had called so now im scared. the number is still in my phone and i dont want her to get in trouble so i lied for her and i was just wnadering what kind of trouble i would get into?

It's small but yes you can get in trouble for obstruction of justice or consider an accessory especially if she commits a crime.

You are impeding an investigation...yes you can get into trouble. However it is up to the officer what if anything they would do to you. Also, they are trying to find your friend to help her. If she is under 18 and a runaway...nothing good can come from her staying away. You are keeping your friend in a dangerous position by so called "protecting" her. If she is avoiding parents, or others who are abusive etc. then the cops are already involved she can go to them...for her sake cooperate with the police.

well i have been in this kind of stuff before. if u lie to the cops about where ur friend is or what number she called u from ur going to in to a lot of trouble that is called harboring a runaway and u can go to jail for it. it sux i know i have been through it and it does sux but that is part of the law and so yeah i wouldn't lie to the cops anymore it just more trouble for u then its worth

yea they tell you that you can but they cant know for sure if your lieng...trust me i ranway before and my friend backed me up even though they thought she was lien they couldnt prove it so you will be ok...good luck!
