Please tell me. I would like to make body washes, detergents bubble bath. Would sodium or potassium hydroxdie be necessary to acheive sopanification? Alot of soap ingridents I see on the labels dont list any lye ingirdients? Any suggestion on any other ingredietns that can be used to acheive a liquid soap i.e. body wash, diswashing liquid, etc?

Back in the days before extensive modern chemistry, pioneers used lye to dissolve the fat and convert it to a soapy substance.
Today, any very "basic" solution can be used for the same purpose.
Be very careful using these solutions, because like acids (on the other end of the pH scale), they are very strong. The difference being that acids will eat your skin off, and bases will just dissolve them into goo. Both very painful and very harmful.

Lye (NaOH, Sodium Hydroxide, or Caustic Soda) is used as a reagent in the chemical reaction (saponification) to make soap.
