EVERYTHING IS FINE WITH YOU AND THE BABY, THEY START DOING THIS BECAUSE YOU ARE GETTING CLOSER TO THE DUE DATE. 40 WEEKS IS FULL TERM. SO YOU ARE DOWN TO THE LAST 8 WEEKS, AND THE LAST MONTH THEY DO START CHECKING YOU EVERY 2 WEEKS, AND THE LAST MONTH THEY WILL CHECK YOU EVERY WEEK. ALL VERY NATURAL, THEY ARE CHECKING TO SEE IF YOU ARE DILATING AND HOW MUCH THE BABY HAS DROPPED TO TELL YOU IF IT WILL BE SOONER. WHICH IS PROBABLY A GOOD THING FOR YOU!! THE SOONER THE BETTER, GOOD LUCK !!!! WITH EVERYTHING, AND CONGRATS ON THE NEW BABY......

Because the closer you get the more concerned the doctors get on how the baby is doing....the only thing they should do is the same that they have been doing....unless there are complications. Then somewhere around 35-36 weeks you will start going evey week until you have the baby and it is only precautionary to make sure everything is ok! Then about 36 weeks the doctor should start checking to see if you are dilating at all or atleast ask you if you want checked. It is uncomfortable but only lasts a minute or two.

They won't start checking you internally until you're at week 36 or so. But they want to measure your belly and make sure the baby is progressing well. It's a typical schedule for pregnancy. At 36 weeks, you'll have to go every week.

COngrats...I'm 32 weeks preg. I'm experiencing the same thing you are. This is my second child so I know that going every 2 weeks now is only so they can keep a closer look at you to make sure everything is going well. They shouldn't check your cervix until you are full term which is 37+ weeks. No need to worry!

this is normal they just do that to keep check on the baby when you get about 36 wks they will see you once a wk till the baby comes. i am 32 wks pregnant with my 3rd. they might check your cervix sometimes but not at every visit. ok ppl 31 wks only leaves 9 wks that means 2 months. its not that far away.so she will see the dr 2 times this month and then once a week next month.

The baby grows a bit faster during this time. The Dr makes sure everything is going as should. Also it is getting closer to your due date so the DR checks for thinning of your cervix & any dialation as well as making sure, as time gets even closer, that the baby is properly faced. ( mother of 4, soon to be 5)
Congrats!

the closer you get the more they see you, pretty soon you will be going every week until baby is born, its just their way of keeping a close eye on you so they know when you will go into labor. its actually a good thing.

They will basically do the same things as your previous apppintments. I didn't get checked down there until 38 weeks.

They do the same things...they just monitor your blood pressure and watch for protein in your urine...In the last 4 weeks you will go once a week. Nothing to worry about.
