I actually meant Homeward Bound but got confused. =)

There was that cornball movie called "Firewall" where Rusty the dog was wandering. Not across the countryside, but around wherever and saved Harrison Ford and family.

I think the first person had it right, milo and otus. Cuz the dog was alone for alot of the movie, then he found the cat at the end. Wow i cant believe i remember all this. lol hope thats what u need.
