Possibly, but it's not uncommon to feel flutters from gas at that stage of pregnancy. If the test in October was Negative, I would bet that it is actually gas you are feeling now. Maybe you can get an ultrasound at your next appointment to be sure. Congratulations!

it's possible but to be honest you are probably mistaking gas for flutters......that is VERY common in early pregnancy. Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. I refer to it almost daily right now and I am due Feb 2, 2007. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Very possible. Unless your doctor does an ultra-sound, all he can go by is the calendar and the date of your last period. If you are feeling "flutters", not gas, then you would have to be at least 4-5 months along in order to feel the first movements of your baby. Discuss this with your doctor.

Of course its possible that you are further along than you thought, if they are going by your LMP (last menstrual period) Unless the doctor has performed an ultrasound to determine the age of the fetus, it is possible you could be a few weeks further along than originally thought. But, you'd have to be A LOT further along than 6 weeks before you'd start feeling the baby moving. You won't feel that for a few months. I doubt that the doctor would be that far off. You'd have to be like 4 or so months pregnant before you feel baby moving.
Maybe its just gas...
And if you haven' had an ultrasound yet, your OB will schedule you for one in the coming weeks and they will measure the size of the fetus and that will determine how far along you are if there are any questions.

The flutters in your stomach are more than likely your uterus contracting and getting ready to make room for the baby. I am currently 6 months pregnant with my 3rd child. The flutters are normal but commonly end up leading to morning sickness. Its all what is called butterflies. You will hear pregnant woman talk about butterflies, but mine was just morning sickness. Good luck.

Even if you were already pregnant it is highly unlikely that you were feeling your baby move or flutters..usually you dont start to feel that until you are about 17 or 18 wks atleast..sometimes first mother dont feel it till well after 20 wks..it could have been gas bubbles ..a lot of women confuse that with flutters!
GOOD LUCK & CONGRATS

6 weeks is still very early...remember that you actually go by your LMP but the baby is really only 4 weeks old!!! That is sooooo small!!! I doubt what you are feeling is the baby...it is probably just you growing and stretching, or it could be gas. I would say that you probably will start getting the roller coaster rides (I call them that when my guy moves...bc it feels like I am on a constant roller coaster) around 14 weeks maybe earlier or later depending on your body. I can feel mine all the time now, and actually can feel him hitting my insides!!! It is wonderful!!!!!

I would go by what the Dr says.
As far as flutters I wouldn't say its impossible because everyone is different! But its unlikely to feel anything this early. I felt movement at 14 to 16 weeks and everyone told me that was too early. To m it felt more like small muscle spasms!

If you're only 6 weeks along, I doubt you're feeling flutters. You might be feeling the excitement of being pregnant or it could be gas. You don't start feeling flutter until you're in your 2nd trimester.
Good luck and congrats!!!
