First of all your friend should send you sponsorship letter from the company he is working in. And that company will issue you the visa and on arrival at Dubai you will get temporary resident permit if your papers are in order. There is no visa fee if you get your visa from sponsors,consider later about airfare it is very little, the matter is IS YOUR FRIEND IS GOING TO SPONSOR YOU FOR A JOB IN THAT COMPANY and he is willing to arrange visa from that company, this is the only way. Do not enjoy yourself on mare promises

Call the Embassy near you to find out or have it made there upon arrival. As far as I know it won't be that easy to be able to work there though. You'd only get a permit if a local firm hires you. Otherwise I think the visa lasts only for 4 weeks. You then have to leave but there is a new "little island" especially made for such cases - you fly there for one day and return and upon your "new arrival" you get a new visa.

it dosent cost more then 200 dhs for visit visa officially . if uhave a job u should expect the company to provide u visa . or ur friend can sponser u also .
as for the ticket try some cheap no frils airline depending onthe country u r comig from
