I have had several metal car tax disk holders does anyone know where to get replacement sticky gel pads from ?

get a tube of clear bathroom silicon sealant, and use blobs of that. Hold the tax disc holder in place with a strip of masking tape while the sealant goes off.

yeesss. i had same problem when my tax disc came unstuck. i bet it is the one with the allen key screws. Halfords sell a small spares box for them. ask behind ripspeed counter in halfords cus it aint always on the shelf
