For the movie - Kank , It has become a fav passtime to hitout
on Srk's & Rani's Characters...I would love to ask such stupids..
How many of you would love a wife that weighs money , success, career , pride (not self esteem) over evrything else in world...A wife that would be ready to make you feel a refugee on her money at any time just because something offends her pride...A wife that doesn't know what does his son do and how is he being brought up.....A wife that is too busy doing late night parties and dancing with male colleagues...?
Don't be scared by only Idea of having such a wife...I have only told about the Damn self-centered & selfish character of Priety Zinta in the film ....who has never given in life but only taken...
It is not over ...Same goes with Abhishek's character...
In fact I thought his was character of a dog and not a man...
living for sex....sex...sex....and more sex...drooling over callgirls and .......the word loyalty....huh? what's that.....love only meant to him the climax on the bed....
I am sure no girl would even think of having a husband like abhi's character in KANk....
So what more to say......In the film.....Two totaly uncorrect pairs..turn in to perfcetly matched pairs....
A Bold film....for such hypocritc & selfish Indian society !
3 Cheers to SRK & KJ

I think that was because Preity and Abhishek's characters were much more independent and confident, unlike SRK and Rani who actually just needed a shoulder to cry on... They (SRK-Rani) could identify with each other and decided (or let's say Karan decided) that they were meant to be together: 'soul-mates'. Even I couldn't get the fact that Rani couldn't get along with such a loving husband and chose this weird guy (SRKs character) instead. SRKs was a weird character anyways, a loser who couldn't digest his failure and his wife's success. It didnt come as a surprise that he started loving Rani, but at least he could have thought about his son (and mom).
I think even SRK and Rani weren't comfortable doing the roles, cause they didnt perform as well as we could expect from such big stars. Preity and Abhi on the other hand stole the show, both in looks and acting. Preity was just mindblowing!!! Loved some of her dialogues and the slap she gave SRK near the climax!!!!
But apart from that, the movie sucked. Amitabh was another weird character...but let's not get into that. Really wonder what Karan wanted to prove with the film. Can only two similar 'types' of person be 'soulmates'? What about opposites attract? And on what basis can SRK and Rani's relation be called love anyways, couldn't it just be an attraction between two depressed people in a similar state of mind? But well, these are other questions. I hope yours is answered by now.

Putting aside all the trashing of the movie,I would like to say that i think it sends out the message that 2 great people don't necessarily make a great couple. remember right from the beginning Rani got into the marriage not out of love but rather out of obligation for the family or because she viewed it as the right thing to do whereas the characters of abhishek and Preity were more sure about their feelings for their partners....the other two (SRK n Rani) felt unfulfilled n out of sync with their spouses...i think they found greater happiness in each other n hence the EMA.

This is a film about weak people who have faults. It bears a shockingly politically correct & socially tolerant message that even if you are frustrated, troubled, maniac, deep in complexes & a psychological parasyte, you stiil have a right to be a part of society. You have a right to live and be happy.
In real life, these seemingly spineless people who are always tormented by one thing or another with no apparent reason are actually the ones who benefit at the expense of those who are stronger & know how to adapt. They are manipulators.
Love is a great pretext to hurt people who only wish & do you good. It is an excuse to do what you will without considering what the others feel. Then you say, Oh, but I am in love! You have 2 forgive me!
Excuse me, is love a mental malady? Does it make you handicapped? The rest of the world is still out there, love or no love. This is a hypocritical display of egoism. People pretend to be pitied for being passive aggressive.
Nature has it that the strongest & the healthiest survives.
Modern society has it that the psychologically strongest & healthiest suffer the most (eg, characters of A&P).
Misinterpreting democracy has led us to the situation where a self-obsessed cruel capricious freak (usually a prude) with a twisted understanding of existence will screw up the lives of all the normal people around him & they will take the blame for it willingly.
Emotionally, the characters of A&P were beaten black&blue all over. They were psychologically raped punished for being better people than their spouses.
It is high time to stop using the banner of love, a precious & sacred emotion, to get away with anything you want.

Nope no special reason. I think it might have been coz they were the main characters and the ones who fell in LOVE, after they made a bad decision(marriage). I dont think any Indian parent would do that(LOVE), and the main reason being KIDS. They just had to be depressed and losers i guess. Anyways the story was good but not the whole movie itself. SRK has overacted as usual(like in his other recent movies), and the script is TOO long and starts to get boring after the first half.

In Bunty or Babli, Rani kissed Abhishek. They took 7 rounds round hearth so for sure they're married. Then the position this Aishwarya comes from. It skill Abhishek has taken the mazaa of both Aish and Rani. For me its Abhi-Rani yet Hrithik-Aish

Go ask K.Jo ... also don't forget to ask him why he made KANK in the first place.... Bolly lacks original storylines, good actors and is only held together by an overrated glam quotient... For more details read today's TOI specifically abt a project called Four Step put together by the students of Mithibai College,Mumbai. That'll explain my strong point of view.
