There are 39 protons and 39 electrons because the atomic number is 39. There are 50 neutrons because you take the atomic weight (88.9) and subtract the number of protons (39), then round.

Yttrium has 39 protons as his atomic number is 39 .
It has also 39 electrons when non ionized
And as its mass number is 89 it has 89-39 = 50 neutrons

Get a periodic table: there are many places, suche as wikipedia, or just search for "periodic table" or just for "Yttrium".
39 protons, 50 neutrons (stable Yttrium), 39 electrons (neutral atom), disposition: 2:8:18:9:2 or [Kr] 4d1,5s2.
You can load my full table at www.skytargets.com/edu/pics/largetable.jpg
Its free.
