Well there are so many, so I'll give you one of each;
Afrikaners: White South Africans who descend from mostly the Dutch who had a mission station in the Cape, as well as other white Europeans eg French Huguenots.
There are also white South Africans who speak English, but they have small cultural differences and speak English, as appose to Afrikaners who speak Afrikaans, a language similar to Dutch.
Zulu: Ethnic Africans who live in SA Kwazulu region. Their name means "people of the sky" and Shaka Zulu was their great leader.
Xhosa: A Bantu tribe living in SA. Nelson Mandela is Xhosa. It is famous for the click sounds in the language for the letters c, q and x.
Sotho and Tswana: Both are very similar languages, but the Sotho's live nearer to Lesotho and the Tswana's nearer Botswana.
Indian culture in SA: There are many Indians in SA, mostly in the Kwazulu region. Most of them where originally brought over as laborers to cut cane, and when that stopped they stayed on. There are both Hindi and Muslim Indians in SA.
Malay: Their are many Muslim Malays in the Cape, who like the Indians where brought over as laborers. Their cooking is very popular in SA culture and many still speak pure Afrikaans in it's near Dutch form.
Coloreds: This is the term used for people of mixed race origin. They have formed their own culture and speak a dialect of their own in either Afrikaans, English or both.
