Well first of all most babies are not born on their due date. But I was due on Christmas Eve and was born on Christmas Eve. I have never had the problem of being spoiled with double presents. It is the exact opposite. I usually just get 1 present. One way that my family has helped that, is we celebrate my birthday at the beginning of December. That is always a way to break it up, and to let people know that 1 present for both is not right. I know this sounds bad, but others always had presents 2 times a year, not for us born this time of year. So, all will be fine! You will have this baby when he/she will be lucky to be in a family that cares for them! Good Luck!

No you are not being crazy. I was due to have my daughter on November 9th. (12 year ago) On Halloween I was scared to death that I would go into labor and have the baby. I took it really easy that day. I lied in bed most of the day, which was pretty easy considering that I was exhausted and miserable anyway by that point of the pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my last daughter 7months ago, I didn't want her born on my birthday. I went into labor the next day, but I was already due. I have never really found anything that would prolong labor that could be done at home. No "home remedy" other than just taking it easy. I went into labor with my last dd at 31 weeks and was given medication at the hospital to stop the labor, I doubt they would do this if you are already close to you due date. Anyway good luck and congrats!

Alot of kids I know born on or around don't get double presents in fact their birthday kinda gets overlooked entirely. Some of my friends (their parents) celebrate their birthday in January correctly with cake and presents so as to make a big deal about it without the overshadowing Holidays!
I would not worry so much about having your baby on a specific day that will ruin their birthday or spoil. If they are remotely born around Christmas it seems as though they are in for a rough patch. So let them come when they do and celebrate small on their actual date, then celebrate after the Holiday rush with full gusto!!

There are such a lot of matters that might occur, like yet another answerer stated - the youngster can get caught n the beginning canal after which have hindrance respiring, You might be overly worn out after an extended lengthy labour - otherwise you would have yet another scientific emergency. Just keep in mind that caesarian births don't seem to be the favoured means of beginning for midwives and medical professionals - your recuperation is longer, there can also be extra headaches and so on. Just keep in mind that something the medical professionals come to a decision on the time is the only that's correct for you and your youngster. I keep in mind having prolonged discussions with my midwife approximately having a beginning with water swimming pools and aromatherapy best directly to discover myself rushed into clinic for an emergency caesarian!! There is not anything you'll do to truthfully hinder this, unofrtunately.

Sorry for this, but your baby will come when it's ready. If it's meant to be born on Christmas, then it will be.
However, your kid will be loaded with presents being born CLOSE to Christmas no matter what day. My daughter was born on Jan. 19th and her birthday being so close to Christmas is hard. It's hard to find presents 1) because the stores are sold out of toys, and 2) because she gets everything for Christmas.
Good luck!

I know exactly what you mean....I'm due on Dec. 31st...my first one came early so I'm terrified that this one will too and will be born on Christmas....I guess there's not really anything we can do...But I've met some people who's birthdays are on Christmas day...and what they do is just celebrate it either earlier or later...no biggie to me...a birthday party is a birthday party...doesn't matter when ya have it...it serves the same purpose...Good luck! and Congrats on your baby...

My original due date was Christmas. I had my daughter on 12/18. One week prior. You dont need to worry about them being spoiled, but need to worry about their birthdays getting forgotten or looked over among the chaos of the holidays. Its fine if your childs birthday falls on Christmas, BUT make sure to celebrate each event separately! Its still their day...on Christmas or not.

Sweetie...when your baby is ready to come he/she will come!!! There is nothing you can do to stop this. I cannot imagine at this point why you would want it in you for any longer!!! I am only 21 weeks...and already cannot wait to meet my little guy!!! I dont care when he comes...as long as he does and he is healthy!!! I understand about the christmas, and wanting the holiday...but dont focus on the day...yes, it is christmas...but what is more important is that baby being healthy and happy!!!
