What UK comics were onflueneced by Marvel comics?

I am sure that all modern comics are influenced either directly or indirectly by Marvel. If you look at the Tod McFarlane Spiderman strips from the early 90's you will see how much these have influenced modern comic artists.
I doubt anyone in the industry did not at some point read at least one copy of Spiderman, Xmen, or the Hulk. They are so readily available.
A lot of British and European comic book artists (Jamie Hewlett, Carlos Ezquerra, etc) have worked for either Marvel (or DC which has many links to Marvel in content and style) at some point in their careers.

I think a lot of them, without the USA Marvel heroes there would not have been an interest in costumed heroes here in the UK.

There were a lot of UK Marvel comics in the 1970's & 1980's, but I think that they were reprints.

If you are talking about characters, well I think Captain Britian (Alan Moore), there was also a team of heroes called Excalibur - which were the UK version of the X-men. There was also a funny graphic novel a couple of years ago written by John Cleese, which was a spoof of Superman. Instead of Clarke Kent landing in the US, he landed un UK & became 'very british'

200AD and star lord were the comics influenced by the sci-fi aspect. However out weekly distribution allowed craft to build and now thouse fnas became the writers of dc comics.

hence the british invasion (actually its all celts, but thats another question)
