Yes, in fact at the moment I am looking for my whatsitsname; I left it on the doodah but it has disappeared, along with my thingy; most annoying.

Sure, it happens to me all the time. Usually, though, the person asking is pointing to the whatzit so you can figure out what on earth they're talking about!

I've been hunting for my .... doofer all day, and I've just found it next to my thingummy - you know, the floggle-toggle box that connects a computer to the 'phone line.
