In my office we have a workgroup, (peer-to-peer)

I recently changed a computer from (Peter 012) to (DriveStudy)

THEN

Due to replication of the same computer, i changed it back, thus giving me access back to the "sts012" computer

Problem

There is a "dead" link in the list of computers in the Workgroup list of computers

How can i remove it?

Try it...if you click on a computer in the "workgroup" list you can't remove it, there is no option to do that.

Figured it out...apparently the "orphaned" computers disappear but it takes a little while...assuming it's after the network does a complete refresh of itself or something

It will go away all by itself. In a workgroup environment there is no "replication" taking place and no domain controller to populate the network. That's handled by the browser service (not to be confused with a web browser) which is not the most reliable code that Microsoft ever wrote.

Just right click on it from the list and remove it
