They say that lotions with cocoa butter can help wash the lines out a bit. I have seen it work.

I don't know, but it REALLY seems to be genetic (not just familial, but ethnic--people w/more melanin, like Mediterranean-descent and N.African, have more resilient skin). I know many women who used cocoa butter like it was gold, but still got stretch marks. The BEST ingredient I know if is Vitamin E, since it prevents AND heals! Use that from the get-go.
Aside from that, only micro-surgery can remove well-established stretch marks. Another BIG prevention technique is to NOT HAVE MORE THAN ONE KID!
Hopefully, someday, MEN can carry them to term, Like Arnold did in the film "Junior" (a chimp already did it, so it's not science fiction...just that MEN don't want to ruin their figures or be put out or endure any pain!...wimps!).
WHY Does everyone keep pushing cocoa butter?! It does NOT work Only vitamin E stands a chance against the evils of stretch marks.

Drink lots of water and use baby oil to keep your skin moist. If your family has a history of stretch marks your are more apt to get them. But remember the stretch marks are made by fast weight gain/loss. Gradually gain weight with you baby so that you are in 'proportion' i.e. not all 'belly' and you have a better chance of not getting the marks. In addition, gradually lose the weight when you have given birth.

You can try to prevent them, but unfortunately they don't go away. They will fade with time and losing weight after the baby is born will help. I've had four kids and mine are barely noticeable since they faded. The only way to get rid of them is plastic surgery and the scars are worse than stretch marks.

You can't get rid of them (aside from having some kind of plastic surgery) and honestly, there is not even a way to prevent them (some people say cocoa butter, different lotions and what not, but it's all a myth. It has more to do with genetics and your skins elasticity.) However, rest assured that after a while, they will fade from pink or red (mine were so red, they looked purple!) to a light silvery white. Just think of them as your battle scars :)

To prevent stretch marks and scars effectively use cocoa butter or a mixture of olive oil and herbs. You can find more cheap and natural remedies for stretch marks and scars at

I am a man but lost 100 pounds,,
When you loss your weight at or near the end lose it more slowly and your skin will actaully pull back.. It won't be perfect but you will not end up with a loose skin pouch.

Unfortunately they are there to stay. You can try to tighten your stomach up but they won't go away completely.

Sorry. But once they are there, they are there. There are creams you can use to help lighten them, but nothing that actually 'glues' the skin back together.

Sorry, but once you have them you are pretty much stuck with them, they will fade and become silvery in appearance and smaller, however, unless you have the money, plastic surgery honey.
