Much more so than it was in the past, anyway.

I wonder why you are asking this question of Yahoo Answers.
Reading almost any newspaper; watching TV news shows, including some special reports; conversations with various people that believe in and practice various religions; friends that have some opinion on the subject; your own personal feelings; and probably the best source of all; SOMEONE GAY.
Get off your butt and do your homework kid.
Make yourself proud.

No, not in all societies... Most are aware of the situation and they 'know' gay are around, but they'll never welcome them with open arms. Even if Americans don't totally accept it, they still tolerate it to some level. It is better than what is used to be, right? But in other places (as in most countries in Asia) being gay is illegal. So its far away from being alright...

It's always had a place in certain groups. That's why I come here, to defend LGBT's against Fundies, being a Chrisitan myself. Fundies are some of the worst because they seem to operate under the false presumption that Gays have to stop their activities in order to be saved. I find that all sin in the bible is condemned, including those of Fundies who bash gays with the Bible. The distinction between the condemnation of sin in the Old Testament, and the Gospel in the New Testament is that grace is supplied to those that trust (have faith) in God. GLBT or straight.
So the distinction of being gay is nothing compared to the grace that God supplies through faith of the believer.
Is it alright? I suppose in the context of being sinners, all of us.
Feed that to your school and see if there are any that protest in ridiculous fashion that you are defying "Separation of Church and State!" ( ;

Yes; People are more open about it them ever. The people who can not accept it are sometimes to scared to admit it to them-self, church; it think they should read the bible a little more, family, or they have been really really hurt by someone who is gay, but Yes I belive it would be a great idea to right that paper

yes but the government is so old school with it's thinking that they don't legally accept it, at least most places don't anyways.
some people are still prejudice against gays, but so are african americans and others. i think that it takes time and people getting to know people of different lifestyles to understand that everyones the same, in some way or another.

I'm not sure but I think the same PDA rules aply to gay coulples as well. I mean the only real issue should be does the family approve? and I dont think you go to jail. and yeah it all depends on where you live.

not yet but i have faith that it will happen. Blacks use to be slaves and considered to be not citizens (supreme court ruling 1857, Dred Scott v. Sanford.) and now they hold public office, own major corporations, coach NFL teams, and are totally accepted by the population. we will also get there someday.

Well, it's perfectly OK with me, babe; but there are still a huge number of bigots around. Of course, levels of tolerance vary enormously from country to country.

We've still not gained full acceptance. Things are slowly getting better, but there's still A LOT of ignorance out there.
