I think any kind of stimulation help start contractions. I would definately avoid the really hot bath thing. Who wants to boil the baby out. Have you tried walking indoors like at the mall or something.. That seems to help. Some have even said that some spicier foods can do the trick. If the nipple thing works then press on and see what comes of it.. Good luck in your delivery!

I read about someone who got contractions to start and thought nipple stim did the trick, but she did it for like 1 hour, twice a day, or more than that. I suspect it depends somewhat on how you respond, physiologically, to nipple stimulation. You're supposed to relax and release oxytocin like when you are breastfeeding. (Or like when you are having sex, if you respond well to that. I never have.) An hour seems absurd to me, because it takes about 5 minutes or less to get strong uterine contractions when I breastfeed. So really I think you'd have to lie down in bed (maybe with your lover) and stimulate and really "get into" feeling it. Sounded way too boring to me, when I was pregnant. Besides, you run the risk of causing your breasts to leak.
I'm of the opinion that the hot bath is too traumatic, even if it did work. You'd be overheating the fetus. Relaxation is the key to labor!!! It will come, it's inevitable. You could be another month - gotta accept that. Probably you'll start contracting just as soon as you stop fretting about it. Then everything will change, and you'll miss these long days to yourself... so much... ;-)
I found that raspberry leaf tea (Traditional Medicinals) increased my pre-labor contractions significantly (as long as I stayed relaxed and active), which I think helps you dilate. It tastes good too!

Nipple stimulation works....at least it did for me....and I found out it works becuase it creates and releases the body's natural form of pitocin (which is what the hospitals give to induce and speed labor and contractions) which can be pretty strong and effective itself. You just have to stimulate your nipples a lot which can be frustrating and difficult to do throughout the whole day.

Orgasm. If nipple stimulation can make you orgasm (and for some women, it can), then I say, "Go for it!" A more reliable way to induce labor would be to try one of the more DIRECT approaches to an orgasm....maybe a few, if that is what it takes. Taking long walks is also supposed to help.

do not take a hot hot bath, that can cause the temp in the baby to go up too much and cause distress, not labor
you should never be in water over 100 degrees while prenant

It is my understanding that labor could be initiated by inducing an orgasm. Try that.
