That sounds like a lean air/fuel condition as suggested in an answer above. When the accelerator pedal is first pushed open, the throttle plate opens to allow more air into the intake manifold. If there's not enough fuel, the hesitation can occur. I recommend cleaning your throttle plate and bore where carbon deposits build up and affect your idle and off idle performance. The vacuum leak is the next culprit to address.

When was the last time you had a major tune-up? It could be that you may need a tune up. A major tune-up consists of changing out the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor if it has them, ignition wires, ignition coil and fuel and air filters. It can also be the idle air control valve or dirty fuel injectors. What type of car is it? What's the engine type and year model? I need this info to further trouble shoot your problem.

may well be countless issues. First to analyze is engine oil low perhaps low. determine oil is at ultimate point and notice if that helps. If that doesn't help it would desire to desire the idle adjusted. The idle screw is often close to the back of the engine on precise close to the rear of the valve cover. even though if maximum require an prolonged factor screwdriver like 12 inch or longer to get to this not undemanding to realize place. as quickly as you stumble in this screw you turn it one way till the sound and idle sounds precise. If it is going the incorrect way basically turn the screw any opposite direction. it may additionally be a undesirable gas filter out or gas pump. I doubt it is the case on condition that your vehicle is barely a 2002 it is going to possibly not might desire to be replace yet till you reside in an exceedingly dusty section. It basically that those products might desire to reason your vehicle to idle such as you clarify. wish this helps and you're able to unravel the challenge because of the fact many shops are rip offs as you reported. locate somebody you have confidence a family contributors chum may well be advantageous.

there can be many problems to this issue. 1st: your fuel system may not be bringing enought fuel to the engine, or may just not have enought presure to the fuel to get it there on camand.2nd it could be that you may be using too low an octane of fuel (you may be using regular and your car requires premium).3rd (ONLY) IF YOU HAVE DONE MODIFICATIONS (turbo kits & superchargers) you will NEED to upgrade your fuel system to get max HP (horsepower) and to make it respond on demand. 4th: you may need a tune up or get your ECU reprogramed.

Either a small vacuum leak or your idle solenoid valve is sticking.
